About the Book

Seren never wanted this life, but with her father drowning in debt, she had no choice. By day, she dreams of opening a flower shop, inspired by parents. By night, she plays the role of the perfect courtesan—until she’s assigned to entertain the infamous General Zephyrion.

Zephyrion has spent his life at war, and now all he wants is peace. He never expected to find solace in the company of a sharp-tongued courtesan, nor did he expect to crave more than just one night. But when Seren refuses to steal from him—defying the orders of her ruthless employer—she pays the price with blood.

Zephyrion won’t stand by while she suffers. But in saving her, he destroys the only life she’s ever known. With nowhere else to turn, Seren must decide if she’ll forge a new path with him or if love is just another cage waiting to trap her.

This was a lovely surprise in my inbox since I loved Claimed by the Ash Prince. We were introduced to Seren and Zephyrion at the end of that book and I was like they gotta be the couple in the next book. This is the story of how they met. It’s happening concurrently with Leila/Rollo. This is a different story format with dual POV’s instead just the one character. Also - we got way more into the immersive world building of the surrounding town instead of just the sexy castle stuff. You can tell Zephyrion is Prince Rollo’s BFF cause he doles out his own nickname “Little Mouse” immediately! My only issue with this novella is I WANT MORE! The war isn’t over. I need a third book dealing with the Azurerite Empire war. Also there was no mention of Lily and Lilac the chambermaids from Book 1 and they deserve everything. I’m down to read Charlie Morgan’s next book, but she’s gotta get back to this world! Thank you for the advanced reader copy. ‘She is the woman from the parade. The one who stole all the breath from my lungs.’ ‘I’m merely an outlet for this man to rid himself of something deep and hungry within his core. And I’m enjoying every minute of it.’

This was a short, fast burn second in the series. Seren is a strong woman who is paying off her family debts while keeping her own dream alive. Zeph is the storm general with lightning at his finger tips. This was not a chance encounter but them falling in love was definitely by chance. I love how Zeph took care of Seren, she really needed someone on her side. Their chemistry was outmatched, in their minds and in the bedroom.

I read Rescued by the Storm General after reading Claimed by the Ash Prince. Both books are romantasy novellas with great spice and an easy story line to follow. The two books do not need to read in order. The timeline of both is concurrent so I wonder if a tandem read would be possible. At a few points, I did find the plot difficult to follow due to some confusion of what was happening but it was simple to clear up when I re-read the section. Tropes: - Age Gap - Forbidden Romance (He has a position of power, She is a spicy worker) - He saves her - He falls first Overall, I give it 4 stars. I would give it 3.5 chili peppers for spicy levels because the spicy scenes are physically rougher than a typical scene. I received this book as an ARC from the author. Thank you so much!

I really enjoyed this love story! It can definitely be read on its own, but it did give a different perspective after having read the 1st in the series, Claimed By The Ash Prince. With that in mind, I feel the length of the novella fit the timing of this story perfectly. Time didn’t move too fast or have gaps in their build while still feeling all the emotions. I loved having a strong, determined character like Seren. She wasn’t defined by her situation, regardless of how others tried to make it as such. I want to see more of this world in future books!

I was lucky enough to read this as an ARC. As a disclaimer these thoughts are my own. This is book two in Wickedly Ever After Series. I really loved Claimed by the Ash Prince, so I was excited to continue on with the series. As a side note you do not need to read Claimed by the Ash Prince before this one; however, there are recurring characters that you meet, so you should. I really enjoyed Seren and Zephyrion's story. It was sweet and Hella spicy. I love how soft he can be for her (unless it's in the bedroom, then he is the commanding general he's known to be). My explanations never do the book justice, so you should read it for yourself. In my opinion it's the perfect fast paced fantasy novella to add to your TBR!!!

First off, in the sake of transparency, I want to mention that I received this book as an ARC in exchange for my honest review. I read the first book in this series so I was excited to start this new one. Overall, I found the story to be enjoyable and I’ll definitely reread it in the future. While it did take me a chapter of so to get hooked in to the story, once I was drawn in I finished it in one sitting. The story takes place in the same timing as the first book so you could probably read the books in any order without too much issue since both couples are mentioned in both books. I hope that there will be more books to this series as I thoroughly enjoy the world of these books. There is a decent amount of spice in this book, and all of the spice was well written. They are not “fade to black” scenes so keep that in mind if things like that matter to you.

This novella is an irresistible delight. If you’ve savored the first, you’ll find yourself captivated by the enchanting characters once more! It’s a brief yet sizzling tale, ideal for those seeking a swift, passionate escape.

This is a cute quick story. You will see that this story takes place at the same time as Claimed by the Ash Prince. I loved this because of the way each character was able to be who they were with each other. They found the peace that they were looking for in each other. Seren is doing everything that she can to take care of herself and father. Zephyrion just came home from war. He wants peace and Seren is the first thing he sees. Recommend anything by Charlie Morgan. She is a great way to clear your mind from any reading slump. The stories are great and quick.
